Electronic Publishing Intern

Truthout is seeking an electronic publishing intern to learn about and assist in our daily news production under the guidance of our editors. The intern will strengthen their editing and publishing skills and learn the ropes of an online newsroom. Applicants should be proficient in using basic Microsoft programs, including Word, as well as exhibit a familiarity with social media. Experience using content management systems such as Joomla and Wordpress is strongly preferred. Familiarity with New York Times style is a plus.

Applicants should be college students, graduate students or recent graduates with good editing and writing skills, a love of politics and a strong interest in online publishing. The electronic publishing intern is expected to work 20 hours per week and will receive a stipend of $1,000 per month plus a cell phone stipend for a 7-month internship.
